Message from Jazz Wines - May 31, 2007
Welcome to the First Taste of jazzwines.com Vintage’07
Messages
If you are here, then it may be that you also enjoy cuisine, travel, and great nightlife. And we hope that jazzwines.com provides you a happy home
We are pleased to offer free articles, event calendars, reviews and interviews of jazz musicians and winemakers. As well, we are honored to work with the International Association for Jazz Education, WBGO Jazz FM and the International Shiraz Alliance.
The inaugural focus for Jazz Wines is Shiraz, a varietal of enormous depth of quality and range of styles. As we move forward we expect to expand and explore other varieties of great grapes.
In order to fully explore Shiraz, it made sense to offer a delicious example. Therefore, we produced limited quantities of Jazz Wines’ The*Shiraz. Released in May 2007, we are delighted it was made by our award-winning winemaker, Corrina Rayment.
Like our wine, our web site is intended to provide a tasteful example and link to opportunities for greater participation, exploration and discovery.
Jazz Wines strategy and jazzwines.com editorials marry our genuine desire to do a few things well and support people’s own journey of discovery as we all develop confidence in our own tastes and knowledge.
This leads to our affordable subscription offer. Live and learn wine and jazz with other people who share your interests:
First, subscribers are given access to our jazz and wine Guides, and an opportunity to discover wine and winemakers using our wine guide to rate wine and view the ratings of others.
Secondly, subscribers are provided convenient access to top spots, in key cities, for jazz and wine. In partnership with a leader in creating guides, Zagat Survey, jazzwines.com offers an online Destination Guide to restaurants and nightlife that feature wine, jazz and musical entertainment.
We did not create the association of jazz and wine. But we feel that something new can be done, online, to support those people who are sensing and living this natural connection.
This entire site is a creative project that celebrates talent as we feel that it’s who is inside that matters.
With so much information and so many products out there, accessing quality counts.
Connecting with creative people is fun and provides learning opportunity. So Jazzwines.com opens up this space with links to winemakers and their wines, guides to jazz musicians and jazz venues, forums for discussion and editorials, bringing people together and seeing what we can do collectively.
Like all creative processes, jazzwines.com is a work in constant progress. We are delighted that you are here, therefore, and would be thrilled if you shared with us any suggestions, questions or thoughts on how to improve our services
Taking the web site live was a complex endeavour. We have been fortunate to have the support and input from three very talented individuals: Andi Swanson our writer/editor, H.M.Himmelein our designer and, in particular, the web wizard D.Prock.Creative. It has been an honor and delight working with them and others too, as it is the support of the broader community that helps us grow!
