JVC Jazz Festival - Newport

Started in 1954 by George Wein, the Newport Jazz Festival was the first outdoor jazz festival in the United States and is universally recognized as the grandfather of all jazz festivNewport Jazz Festivalals. An immediate success in its first year, Newport became the mecca of the jazz world and is today considered by many to be the most important event in jazz. JVC has sponsored this legendary event since 1984 and has continued, year after year, to bring together some of the best talent in jazz from the past, present and future.
