Origins : Gippsland
About
Gippsland is a zone on the southern coast off Bass Strait in Victoria. The terrain includes lush green hills to the west, flood plains, lakes and coastal sands in the centre and rainforests, apline country and snowfields to the north and east. The climate ranges from cool and wet to frosty in the higher areas, providing challenges for winemakers. Carefull matching of cool climate varietals such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnays have produced strong results.
