Origins : Goulburn Valley
About
Goulburn Valley is a wine region in the Central Victoria Zone. Warm summers and an abundance of lakes, billabongs and creeks have made it ideal country for wine since the 1860s. The soils vary widely from red and brown clay loams, yellow-brown clay loams and gravelly quartzose sands. The area was developed with Rhone varietals such as Marsanne, Shiraz and Rousanne. Goulburn also produces rich, buttery Chardonnays.
