Origins : Manjimup
About
Manjimup is a wine region in the Southern corner of Western Australia. Situated in the Warren valley it is often linked with the neighbouring Pemberton Region.
Plenty of spring rainfall followed by dry summer/autumn growing season promote good growth. The soil is marri gravel loam soil, much prized for its draining and soil warming capacity. Manjiump is heavily forested with only about a quarter available for viticulture. Bordeaux like temperatures make the region ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; Chardonnay is also widely planted.
