Origins : Macedon Ranges
About
Macedon Ranges is a region in the Port Phillips Zone. This sprawling, hilly and windswept area is what might be termed the extreme end of the cool climate viticulture. The majority of the soils are relatively skeletal mountain soils, most typically granitic sandy loams with patches of deep loams in valleys and on the lower slopes and occasional plains. Site selection and relatively low yields are prerequisites for success. It is uniquely suited to the production of premium sparkling wine.
