Origins : Nagambie Lakes
About
Nagambie Lakes is a sub-region in Central Victoria, located around the town of Nagambie, across the Great Divide on the warm Goulburn River plains. The meso-climate is dramatically influenced by inland waters yielding a climate more moderate and cooler than expected. The soil is red/sandy loam and is so coloured because of the very high Ferric-oxide content. The sub-region has some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world.
