Origins : Padthaway

 
 

About

Padthaway is a wine region in the Limestone Coast Zone. Directly north of Coonawarra, Padthaway has a warmer climate, with more sunshine hours and fewer rain days. The soil is terra rosa with stony patches, shallow sandy loam on top of limestone. Known early on as a quality white wine region, commercial success has pushed reds most notably Shiraz into the forefront.
