About
Peel region is the southernly coastal area of the Greater Perth zone in Western Australia. The Indian Ocean provides a Mediterranian style climate with cool wet winters and dry, moderate summers. The soil varies from limestone at the coast to very old granite, gravel soils inland. The first grapes to be planted in the area were Shiraz, still today one of the areas most sucessful varietals.
