Origins : Pemberton
About
Pemberton is a region, in the South West Australia Zone, south east of Margaret River and neighboring Manjimp. The region is mostly covered with Marri forests in the north and Karri forests in the south. This is reflected in the soil, gravelly loams and sands in the north and more fertile loams in the south.
Although the Southern Ocean is the regionís major climatic influence, it is tempered somewhat by the elevated altitude at which the vineyards are planted. The region can be described as Mediterranean with warm summers and cool wet winters. Pemberton is well suited to Burgundy style grapes such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
