Origins : Perricoota
About
Surrounding the New South Wales city of Moma, Perricoota is a wine region in the Big Rivers Zone. Backing on to the Murray River, the terrain is flat with remnants of river, red gum forests. Its soils, of moderate acidity tending to alkalinity at depth, are generally red clay loams of good texture with fair to good moisture holding capacity. The region is quite warm making it suitable for Chardonnay in white and Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in reds.
