Origins : Sunbury
About
Just a short drive west of Melbourne, Sunbury is a wine region in the Port Phillip Zone in Victoria. A chilly climate, the wine growing season is sharply influenced by the northernly wind, drawing cold air up from the Antartic Ocean and across the plain. The nearby Macedon Ranges and the sea offer some moderations, but as in other southernly regions, site selection is key. Notable plantings include Chardonnay and Shiraz.
