Origins : Tasmania
About
Tasmania is gaining a reputation for the production of premium quality wine. The extremely cool and damp climate is ideal for fine Chardonnay and complex Pinot Noir, used both for table and sparkling wine. The entire island of Tasmania is an official wine zone and there are no official wine regions. However, the island has a range of microclimates and soil types giving its wines a wide diversity of character. Other grape varieties of note are Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Traminer and Merlot.
