Origins : Yarra Valley
About
Dating back to 1837, Yarra Valley is Victoria’s oldest vineyard area. Vineyards range in topography, being planted on both the flatter and the more undulating parts of the region. The soils range from hard red duplex with subsoils of red brown clay to deep red loam. The climate is generally cool, ideal for producing some of Australia’s finest Pinot Noirs. Other important plantings include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
