Varietal : Chambourcin
About Chambourcin
Chambourcin is a hybrid grape produced by French biochemist Jonnes Seyve. Available since 1963, it is grown in parts of the mid-Atlantic region: the Hunter Valley in Australia, and parts of France. Growing in popularity, due to its resistance to fungal disease such as phylloxera, it is also the parent of new disease resistant varietals such as Regent.
The grape produces an intense purple color with a strong fruit flavor, medium body and good length.
