About Durif
Durif is a red wine grape, named for Francois Durif a botanist who discovered it in a vineyard near the University of Montpellier in France. Also known as the Petite Sirah, Durif produces wines deep in color, high in acid with a full body, plum flavors and a peppery nose.
Though historically it has been used sparingly as a blending grape, Durif has experienced a recent resurgence, as a producer of quality, single varietal wines in Australia.
