Varietal : Sauvignon Blanc
About Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc, a green-skinned grape variety from the Bordeaux of France, is thought to be the offspring of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvginon. Planted extensively and growing vigorously, Sauvignon blanc can range in quality and flavor—from grassy to sweet and fruity. It is susceptible to noble rot, making it ideal for luscious sweet wines.
As a varietal, Sauvignon blanc is a crisp, dry, and refreshing white with strong aromatic flavors—usually gooseberry, melon, lime or passion fruit—and is often paired with Semillon.
